Petrofac Production Control Room Operator Job

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To have sufficient understanding of process safety and major accident hazard management to be able to effectively contribute and influence business decisions impacting process safety.
  • Actively support a working environment based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity.
  • Commit to incident free operations.
  • Participate as a member of the Production Supervisor’s team in delivering performance against targets.
  • Ensure necessary preparation for relevant scheduled activities.
  • Ensure that the underlying causes of failures are understood, and that action is taken to avoid repeat failures.
  • Bring defects in practices, equipment, tools, protective clothing to the attention of relevant staff.
  • Has a detailed knowledge of the Topsides and Subsea process systems, plant layout and controls, including their function and operation, as specified, and described in the Operating procedures/vendors manuals and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensure relevant knowledge of Installation Safety Case, Cause and Effects charts, PCS, PSD and ESD systems. Responsible for monitoring the overall safety related to ESD and F&G systems.
  • Safely and efficiently operates process control systems from the Central Control Room.
  • Effectively communicates plant conditions/status to the Emergency Response Team in the event of an emergency.
  • Effectively records information during emergency scenarios as required according to the station bill.
  • Responsible under the guidance of the Production Supervisor for completing verification assurance and routine activities and maintaining quality records.
  • Monitors plant to optimize conditions; ensuring wells are producing as per priority list, whilst maintaining a focus on the protection of People, Plant and Environment.
  • Responsible for fault identification/investigation on control systems.
  • Maintains proper process plant records, log sheets and equipment running data sheets, recognizes readings outside specified values, and informs the Production Supervisor should these occur.
  • Prepares production wells for testing, carries out the tests as specified, gathers data and completes well test reports.
  • Prepares the correct inhibit and override risk assessments for equipment requiring maintenance.
  • Liaise with other departments and contract personnel so that you are aware of work ongoing which may affect your response to situations.
  • Build effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
  • Comply with Company procedures and ensure a full and comprehensive handover detailing all relevant information in accordance with these procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate maintenance records and ensure that the data is entered into the appropriate information management systems.
  • Raise relevant work permits in a timely manner.
  • Execute duties as specified in the station/bill/emergency response procedures or as directed by the OIM.
  • Commit to Competence Assurance System and undertake any training and assessment required for the role.
  • Under direction of the Production Supervisor, operates the process of all topside and subsea systems safely and efficiently, from the Central Control Room. This is carried out in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and other relevant standards and values in conjunction with production operating procedures.
  • In accordance with delegation of authority.
  • Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of crew, and areas of environment pertaining to their position.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • S/NVQ Processing Operations Hydrocarbons (level 3) or equivalent.
  • Minimum years of Process experience.
  • CRO controlling emergency training preferred.
  • Extensive experience of production operations, knowledge of production and maintenance, associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislation.
  • Experience in the control and use of “Safe Systems of Work” (PTW) including their procedures.
  • Supervisory experience in offshore or similar environment preferred.
  • Experience of organizing, coordinating and controlling/monitoring work.
  • Able to read and work from engineering/vendor drawings including P&ID’s and Cause & Effects.
