E&I Construction Supervisor
mselectis looking to hire an E&I Construction Supervisor for an international energy client in Basra, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and control the selected contractors to carry out the electrical and instrumentation works at their premises in prefabrication and under construction on the sites
- Ensure the proper execution of connection and pre-commissioning works in compliance with safety and environmental protection procedures, technical specifications, quality requirements, budgets, and schedules
- Optimize and monitor the schedules and progress of the work, to do this verify the proper organization of the logistics and the Contractor’s site
- Ensure smooth interface between the site (the contractor and the operator), the Project Engineer and the various entities of the subsidiary (the Operations, Maintenance departments, the Commissioning team, etc.)
- Check the procedures and Company schedule es companies
- Participate in the risk analyses, supervise the preparation and check the permits to work
- Oversee and check the technical information provided by the contractor and its consistency
- Monitor supplies for the smooth running of the site (verification and inspection of equipment)
- Act as the Company representative with various subcontractors and suppliers
- Anticipate all potential challenges, propose, if necessary, alternative “practical” solutions
- Supervise and ensure the receipt, control, and transmission of all contractors’ documents
- Prepare daily section reports (progress of work, number of people, highlights, etc.)
- Participate in weekly meetings, (preparation or control of meeting minutes)
- Validate the approval of the works with the Business Manager and the Contractors
- Supervise the commissioning and start-up teams
- Act as the contractor’s substitute when necessary for the success of the project
Health, Safety and Environment Activities:
- Support and enforce project guidelines and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) objectives
- Attend HSE meetings and training when necessary
- Participate in job safety analysis, make suggestions, stop dangerous situations, and report anomalies incidents and accidents
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or construction field
- Minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience in the oil industry, with significant experience as an Electrical and Instrument Construction Supervisor in onshore Greenfield and brownfield project
- In-depth knowledge of general specifications, rules, procedures and International codes and standards.
- Previous experience in Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) is an added advantage
- Good team player with ability to work cross functionally with complex project teams and interface between interdisciplinary departments and within an international team
- Excellent knowledge of English language (oral and written)
