We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East L.L.C for a
Senior Metering Technician
Job Purpose:
This is an opportunity for you to be responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of all measurement recording and control systems in compliance with Authority standard and Company policy & procedures, applicable regulations, and applicable AGA / API standards.
Your main duties will be to:
Maintain accurate measurement of gas/liquids into and out of the pipeline export pipelines.
Monitor, document, and address any lost and unaccounted for gas volumes
Maintain turbine, Coriolis, ultrasonic, and orifice meters, and densitometers
Install, maintain and troubleshoot field communications backbone and end devices including spread spectrum, air link, licensed, and Protocol equipment
Complete all applicable and required documentation for all aspects of gas measurement, reporting, and position
Responsible for proper operation and maintenance of pipeline facilities in accordance with Company procedures/policies and DOT regulations
Assist in cost control of pipeline operations and maintenance
Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate electronic flow computers, gas chromatographs, moisture and analyzers, control valve, and actuated valves in designated pipeline system along with other associated measurement and control equipment
Schedule and perform calibration of assigned meter stations
Resolve issues pertaining to measurement and system balance
Communicate at a technical level and interface with client, measurement, operations, and engineering groups.
Planning and ensuring safe and efficient execution of routine preventive maintenance programs and breakdown maintenance for all metering systems as per standards and manufacturers’ recommendations.
Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non-conformity reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events.
Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise. Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices
Profile
Ideally, you should have at least a Diploma In Control/ Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
Ideally, you should have 10 years of experience in which 3 or more years of comprehensive gas measurement experience and/or 5 years process automation/I&E and/or data communications/electronics experience
Previous experience in sour gas plant is an advantage
Capable of giving strong attention to details and problem-solving skills
